Association
Introduction
Green Net Finland is a networking organisation of environmental enterprises and the public sector. The objective of the association is to collate and centralize a wide range of environmental and energy sector know-how, in order to support the development of small to medium size enterprises and improve export activities.
Green Net Finland's member network includes around 60 environmental organizations in Finland. Our members represent the best of Finland's environmental research and business know-how in the following fields:
- environmental monitoring
- clean energy and energy efficiency
- clean water
- material efficiency, waste recycling and energy from waste
- clean industrial processes
The challenge of promoting sustainable development, including climate change adaptation and mitigation, requires new and effective modes of operation. Green Net Finland meets this challenge through multi-disciplinary integration of environmental and energy sector expertise with that of the ICT sector, thereby creating a fertile environment for new, innovative and energy-efficient solutions, particularly for the urban environment.
Green Net Finland's roots are in the Helsinki area, but it acts nationally in partnership with the Kuopio, Lahti and Oulu areas. Internationally, the association works with environmental organisations in the public and private sectors from the other Scandinavian countries, the Baltic states, Poland and other EU countires, as well as China and Russia.
Green Net Finland's membership and internal customers are comprised of environmental companies and public sector bodies, including the city councils in the Helsinki region and the main research and training facilities. External customers include other actors in the environmental sector such as national and international funding bodies, education and research organizations, governments and other networking organizations.
