The third SAVE ENERGY Newsletter has been published in August 2011. This is the last issue of the newsletters, since the project ended in the end of August 2011. This issue is mainly focusing on the results of the project.
SAVE ENERGY Conference in Helsinki 16-17 June 2011
Welcome to SAVE ENERGY Conference on June 16-17 in Helsinki City Hall’s Banquet Hall. The Conference is the final event of SAVE ENERGY project (CIP-ICT-PSP-238882 PROJECT). It will bring together an international audience of EU and municipality level policymakers, researchers, enterprises, project partners and media.

The conference is a two-day event focusing on the SAVE ENERGY project results:
- Increasing energy efficiency in public buildings through ICT
- Living Lab Methodology in the context of SAVE ENERGY
- User behavior transformation / serious games.

Nordic competition looks for the best cleantech business ideas
The Nordic Cleantech Open competition is looking for innovative teams and business ideas with the potential to become future stars in the environmental business. The goal of the competition is to bring new cleantech companies to international markets.
The competition is being held for the first time and offers participants plenty of visibility among cleantech players, contacts with capital investors, and top-level coaching in business idea development. The 25 competitors selected by the jury will have the chance to gain experience in the areas of business operations, marketing, and financing. The 10 finalists will also present their business idea to international capital investors. Over the next two years, roadshows will be held in the Nordic countries, London and the USA.

Appointment of Development Manager
We are pleased to announce that Engineer Arto Haakana has been appointed as Development Manager at Green Net Finland. Arto will be working on energy efficiency in urban areas, to which he brings his considerable experience in the development of energy efficient innovations. He will start work on 8.3.2010.
Towards a thriving low-carbon Finland
The Finnish Government adopted on October 15th the Foresight Report on Long-term Climate and Energy Policy. Setting a target to reduce Finland’s greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80 per cent from the 1990 level by 2050 as part of an international effort, the report marks out the road to a low-carbon Finland in 2050.

Green Net has launched its redesigned web site in August. The objective of the new wiki-based site is to provide the users with more user-friendly tools to generate content and participate in on-line communities.
Preseco signs a Memorandum of Understanding for Biocarbon™ technology to China
Preseco signs a MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) during the Chinese business delegations visit to Finland on the 10th of July, 2009. This is part of the the Finland - China Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum organized by high governmental organizations in Finland and China. This is a significant step in implementing state-of-the-art innovative Biocarbon™ technology in China. Biocarbon™ is an emission-neutral biofuel with the energy value of fossil carbon. Preseco has also opened it’s first Biocarbon™ production plant in Finland.
